Bar Tour Locations
Below are details on how to make your bar and/or restaurant business a participating location on the upcoming 2009 Ghent Winter Bar Tour. The tour will take place the evening of February 28th from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and is primarily focused on those establishments located on or near Colley Avenue and 21st Street in Norfolk. All proceeds from this event will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Eastern Virginia (local Hampton Roads chapter). As a bar tour location you will be helping grant wishes for children who are struggling with life-threatening medical conditions in the local area. Bar Tour Locations
Detailed information for bar/restaurant owners and staff can be found in our official location information package. As an official location on this bar tour, you will get all of the following:
Very large increase in patronage the day of the event*- Your business logo placed on the back of 1000+ screen-printed T-shirts
- Your business name on 1000+ souvenir cups
- Your business logo advertised as an official sponsor on GhentBarTour.com and on the Ghent Bar Tour map given to all participants
- Opportunity to place additional advertisements, flyers, brochures, coupons, trinkets or other items promoting your business inside every participant's registration bag
- One large poster and several standard-size flyers to post at your location
- Five black "STAFF" event shirts for your employees or other use
* Maximum capacity for this event is 1000 participants - your staff will be able to identify all participants by their wristbands
To become an official location on this bar tour, you need to provide the following:
- Completed commitment form (signed copy due by January 16th)
- Tax-deductible donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® (deposit due by January 30th - check will not be cashed until after the event)
- Your business logo (digital EPS file due by January 30th)
- Staff shirt quantity and sizes (information due by February 13th)
- Food & drink specials available to all participants (information due by February 20th)
Bar Tour volunteers will provide your location with signs and other promotional materials before the event to help guide participants to your location. At least two volunteers will be present at your location at all times during the tour to help guide participants and to hand out tokens for our various competitions. These competitions are meant to excite participants, but more importantly they also encourage participants to visit each and every location on the tour and not "park" themselves at just one favorite spot.
Supported Charity
All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Eastern Virginia. This local Make-A-Wish chapter serves all of Hampton Roads, the Peninsula, Williamsburg, Emporia, Franklin, York, James City, Sussex, Isle of Wight, Surry, Greensville & Southampton counties and the Eastern Shore. The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to grant wishes to children between the ages of 2˝ and 18 who have life threatening medical conditions. The organization provides a bright moment of hope, strength, and joy for a child in what can sometimes be a dark routine of treatments, doctors and hospital visits. Many thanks to the Make-A-Wish staff for their support in planning this event as well as previous events.
