Our Supported Charity
All proceeds from the Oceanfront Spring Crawl will directly benefit Toby's Dream Foundation. Toby’s Dream Foundation ensures that children living in Greater Hampton Roads with life-threatening illnesses have the opportunity and resources to imagine and experience their most fantastic dream. The foundation currently operates with an entirely volunteer staff and Board of Directors, relying on the generosity of friends and community members to achieve their own dream of giving the children of Greater Hampton Roads unforgettable experiences that bring hope for an uncertain future.
Toby Vaught, a young man from Hampton Roads, found tremendous inspiration from the lives of those around him, especially the lives of youth who courageously attacked ailments presenting themselves on psychological, physical and biological battlefields. Toby possessed a contagious passion for crystallizing the dreams of these special children living with the prospect of an uncertain tomorrow. With endless hours of tireless work, he helped to make dreams come true for dozens of children in Greater Hampton Roads. Toby Vaught lost his own life at the age of 29. However, his angelic spirit and his contagious devotion to realizing the dreams of children will live on forever through Toby’s Dream Foundation.
Among all people in our community and throughout the world, there are no better dreamers than the children in our lives whom we love and cherish. Unfortunately, not all children live the unencumbered lives they deserve and, as a result, their capacity to dream becomes hindered by the news of an uncertain tomorrow. For some, their days become consumed with treatment and therapy, doctor’s offices and operating rooms. These children face challenges that many adults would cower from and are able to do so with bravery and courage that inspires so many. These children deserve to see a dream realized. These children are entitled to hope.
