2005 Ghent (Summer) Bar Tour

Friday, July 15th was just another ordinary Friday night after work for many Hampton Roads residents, but for some it was the beginning of something great... the first Ghent Bar Tour. An informal band of 30 or so friends, neighbors, co-workers, and colleagues wandered down Colley Avenue and then down 21st Street in search of some cool refreshing relief from the July heat. The plan was to darken the door of 15 independent establishments in just one night. Things being what they were, the group only made it to 8 of the intended 15 bars but nonetheless each participant certainly went home that night with a feeling of accomplishment and "light-heartedness". The following bars experienced a half-hour surge in business that night:

Indeed, a great time was had by all in attendance. So much it seems that many requests for another tour came rolling in from those that missed this first one. Have no fear - we answered the call and the next tour went on to meet and exceed everyone's expectations.
